Happy 2013!

Goodbye, 2012. And helllloooo 2013. 2012, you were great, but I have a feeling that 2013 will be even bigger and better. We had two major life changing event in 2012, and that was Josh finding a new job and  buying our house (yippee!) And we also got to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. buuuut, 2013 will have a lot more bigger moments such as our niece being here in about 3 months (eeek!) and Josh and I starting work on updating our home. A lot of my friends are also preparing for the birth of a child...which is super exciting and I can't wait to meet their little ones. Those are just a couple things we are excited about and can't wait to see what else is in store for us.

So, how did we ring in the New Year?? You would think that since it was our first year in about 3 to actually spend the night with each other (Josh was usually bartending, and I would hang out at the bar or with some of our friends) that we would really be partying it up. Ha. One would think. After much debate about where to go, how to get there, how to get home, how much we wanted to spend, and then add the fact that Josh had to be at work bright and early Tuesday morning; we decided to stay home this year. So, we smoked some ribs in Josh's new smoker and after dinner we had our friends Rikki and Austin over for some celebrating. We haven't gotten to spend anytime with them lately so it was really great to be able to share New Year's with them. We also facetimed (is that right?? I'm still not even sure about the workings of this technology) with Lindsy and RJ in Memphis. The night was, in one word, perfect.

What's that you ask?? New Year's Resolutions??? Well, since you asked...I haven't really come up with many...actually any at all. But just brainstorming here, this is what I would like to see happen this year:

-work on our home, one room at a time, transforming it into our dream house.
-welcome my sweet baby niece into the world.
-have more time with my husband.
-take a few vacations/staycations.
-laugh more.
-stress less.
-eat more smartly.

Totally do-able, right? right. I will also be trying to keep up with our monthly goals, and those will be a little less vague as these are.

Well, I hope everyone had a very safe and happy new year. May it bring you all the joys you could ask for and even some  more. I will now leave you with some pictures from our celebrations.

I heart my rockmate.

cheers!

Happy New Year from Josh and Roxie!
